Visiting by car

From Bath, Radstock via A367
For Fairy Cave Quarry Turn left at the crossroads just before Nettlebridge, then first right (0.6mile) into Limekiln Lane. The quarry is on the left after 0.3mile. Parking space is limited.

For SESC carry on to join the A37 then turn immediately left at the crossroads onto Old Frome Road. At the T-junction (2miles) turn left. SESC is on the right at Moons Hill Quarry (Wainwright). Ample parking. Look out for signs directing you to the SESC car park at the entrance to Moons Hill Quarry.

For Halecombe and Westdown/Asham quarries turn right then immediately left  at the T-junction. Halecombe is best accessed from Leigh on Mendip (signposted left turn), where parking is available either behind the village hall (space for 6 to 8 cars) or on the High Street. On foot, take the lane signposted Radstock, Coleford. On the right just on the first bend a footpath leads across one field to join the peripheral quarry path.

Halecombe’s peripheral path can also be joined on the NE side of the quarry near the works entrance. This is a  shorter walk than from the Leigh on Mendip but parking in the layby is limited to only 3 or 4 cars.  From Old Wells Road follow signs to Halecombe Quarry, go past the works entrance and park in a layby on the left. A path leads through a gate and up some steps to the peripheral path.

For Westdown/Asham follow Old Wells Road until you reach a staggered crossroads. Turn right. The quarry entrance is 0.8mile on the right. Park in the layby on the right or in the lane on the left.

From Shepton Mallet via A37/A367
For Fairy Cave Quarry turn right at Oakhill/Oakhill Inn. Turn left at 1.1mile. The quarry is 0.4mile up this narrow lane on the right. Parking space is limited.

For SESC turn right off the A37 at the crossroads with Old Frome Road then at the T-junction (2miles) turn left. SESC is on the right at Moons Hill Quarry (Wainwright). Ample parking.  Look out for signs directing you to the SESC car park at the entrance to Moons Hill Quarry.

From Shepton Mallet via A361
For SESC turn left off the A361 at Cranmore for Stoke-St-Michael. SESC/Moons Hill Quarry (Wainwright) is on the right at 1.6miles.

For Halecombe and Westdown/Asham turn left at Holwell. The turnoff is on a right hand bend in the A361. Follow this road for 0.8mile and turn left at the crossroads. The entrance to Westdown/Asham is on the left 0.8miles after the crossroads. Park in the layby on the left or in the lane on the right.

For Halecombe, carry on past Westdown/Asham. The works entrance to Halecombe quarry is on the left 0.3mile after the second crossroads. Go past the works entrance and park in a layby (parking only for 3 or 4 cars) on the left. A path leads through a gate and up some steps to the peripheral path. From the East, Frome via A361
Turn right off the A361 at Holwell 0.8mile west of the Nunney Catch roundabout. Follow this road for 0.8mile and turn left at the crossroads. The entrance to Westdown/Asham is on the left 0.8miles from the crossroads. Park in layby on the left or in the lane on the right.
